Trans Identified Male Sexual Offenses and Violent Crimes

This post is meant to show the importance of sex-specific spaces and protections by presenting a comparison between male violence/offenses and the crimes committed by transgender identifying males. It shows the issues with allowing access to women/girls’ protected spaces on the basis of self-identification under new gender identity policies/laws. It is not meant to be used to portray all those who identify as transwomen, non-binary, gender fluid, etc. as predatory. There are many good transgender identifying people who would never think to commit such crimes, just as with men, but this doesn’t change the statistics and upbringing in male socialization. Despite popular transgender ideology, there are many transwomen who acknowledge biology, so this is not about hate. This blog does not represent the views of all websites linked, they’re merely to give details on specific cases. There is also nothing inherently wrong with gender non-conformity.

Issues with non-consensual electric recordings and revenge porn:

Offenses directed specifically toward women and girls are highlighted in red.

Offenses against both males and females highlighted in purple.

The rest either have male or unknown sex of the victims.

Some of the child abuse cases do not indicate the sex of the child. Some articles report male trans offenders as women, which makes it difficult for the general population to be aware of male transgender crimes, by obscuring male and female crimes. Most of the crimes listed were committed by transgender identifying males, post-op transwomen, or those who underwent gender reassignment surgery behind bars. The rest are labeled as cross-dressing men by publications; what gender they personally identify with is unknown. Most reports listed come from the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia; countries who’ve recently adopted gender identity policies/laws.

Modern Tech and Ideological Body Dissociation

Some main criticisms of the ideology behind transgenderism are the body dissociating and reality denying aspects that make up the basis of it. What is the benefit of an ideology that encourages people to reject their own biology and embrace a mythical gender identity as their ‘true self’? No matter how distressed someone is with their own biology. The affirmation model used in the medical and mental health industry exploits people’s emotional and psychological pain to the financial benefit of pharmaceutical companies and plastic surgeons.

Gender ideology attracts many because it serves as a type of distraction from the hard parts of reality that cause people pain. Young people already spend most of their time consumed in activities that serve as an escape from their everyday, boring, or traumatic lives. Comparable to drug use and binge drinking; we have smart phones, social media, online chats, video games, video streaming sites, pornography; all heavily utilized in our modern times, not only as entertainment, but as tools of escape and ways to cope with painful and stressful parts of our lives. It gives people a sense of community, though it is an impersonal, switch from natural human interaction. As drug addictions and alcoholism are considered prevalent problems in society, people are starting to analyze the over reliance on internet and electronics as harmful activities of escapism young people engage in and are often pulled into when they feel lost in life and feel desperate for a community to belong to.

The rise in young people claiming gender dysphoria is a societal problem. And gender ideology spread on social media and in social circles of young people serves as a pseudo antidote to the sexist, racist, homophobic, and oppressive parts of society. A way to rebel against restrictive rules and the status quo like generations before. Unfortunately, many young people aren’t able to fully conceptualize how gender ideology are just these parts of society repackaged. It functions like a cult, drawing in vulnerable young people, separating them from family who don’t conform to the many rules and ideas that aren’t allowed to be questioned. And now this pseudo-scientific, belief system is being taught to young children across the United States in federal schools. Whatever happened to the scientific method and critical thinking in education?

If I grew up exposed to this ideology, I would also believe I fit into one of the 100s of newly created boxes of gender identities. Transgender is defined as “anyone who does not fit into society’s gender stereotypes.” So it makes sense children and young people can be convinced they’re transgender from rampant online use that has an impact on feelings of gender dysphoria. Many people who transitioned when young and then de-transitioned report this experience.

I also understand the desire to find an identity in a peer group. As an adolescent girl, goth and emo culture were in style. Social media sites specifically for goths and emos were used by girls who regularly posted pictures of themselves wearing lots of makeup and clothing styles, many in competition with another. Though I love the gothic style, I still am a goth at heart, no one can deny that mental illness, depression, and self-harm are attached to this subculture. There were many images and memes encouraging self cutting on these sites. It’s no secret, many of the girls who posted pictures of themselves had self-image issues and perhaps eating disorders, which social media use worsened. Self-cutting was the social contagion of my time, now the self-harm goes further in other forms by girls who hate themselves, with chest binding, double mastectomies, and puberty blockers. I know for a fact I didn’t want to cut myself until exposed to it by friends and now I have life long scars that children may see.

It’s not unusual for girls to hate their bodies and not want to be a girl in our sexist, capitalist culture that constantly bombards us with sexually objectified media and unrealistic beauty standards for women. Let alone the gender stereotypes and expectations we absorb growing up. But now, girls who are gender non-conforming and same sex attracted learn it’s because of their special gender identity. Then encouraged to change their bodies when their disconnect from reality and discomfort with their bodies grows deeper with more exposure to internet queer subcultures and social pressures. It’s been found that internet algorithms play a role in reinforcing young people’s delusional and self-loathing thinking. And with more frequent internet use, the more mental health problems that get preyed upon by organizations that make ‘trans awareness’ and mental health care part of the billion-dollar gender transition market.

Though, young trans activists may think I have outdated ideas, I was once a young person like them in the internet age. I regularly engaged in dissociating activities due to trauma and mental health issues I didn’t know how to deal with as a young female in a misogynistic culture. Suffering trauma in childhood and having Asperger’s syndrome, I didn’t know how to relate to others growing up, including most girls I saw as girly, because I detested feminine gender roles. I only had a couple friends in high school, who I became distant from after falling in love with a boy online at 15 I thought I could relate to, but as it turns out, interacting behind a screen doesn’t give you a very accurate perception of someone.

I spent most of the day online with him in messenger talking, playing video games, and watching movies. I had social phobia and couldn’t even imagine getting a job after high school or driving a car. All the things that would have helped me, became unattainable fears in mind and internet use kept me in a box of illusionary safety. I didn’t know how to make friends and felt like the friends I had didn’t like me anymore, so I relied on this boy online for attention, who claimed to be in love with me. This became my escape from the hard things in my life I wanted to avoid.

The 16-year-old boy I began spending multiple years dissociating from reality with online is a perfect example of gender ideology’s influence on mentally unwell people in the modern age. In my previous article, I wrote about the abuse I suffered from him for up to 6 years, his mental issues, and how he ‘came out’ to me as ‘feeling’ like both a man and a woman on the inside, after I confronted him about his abusive behavior. I also wrote about how I suspect he had what I learned is called ‘autogynephilia’, from the things he told me. Because the article was so long, I ended up leaving some things out that I realized later are very relevant to the topic of modern day, ideological body dissociation.

One of my biggest regrets as a teenage girl, was thinking I could win his love over by sending him naked photos of myself. Not telling anyone about being sexually abused obviously negatively affected my sense of self-worth and judgement. I honestly thought we were meant to be, and he wouldn’t hurt me in the way my previous abuser did. He then came to expect nudes from me and pressured me into performing on video camera for him in the ways he wanted. When he started showing his manipulative side, I knew if I didn’t send anything he’d become upset, and I didn’t want him to leave me because he was the first guy to ever say they loved me. In a way, I was like his personal porn performer, and I still wonder to this day if he shared images of me with other men online.

What I didn’t quite express in my previous article, was the extent of time he spent on his computer, playing video games, and of course, watching pornography. It was almost constant screen time. He was obsessed with video games, especially violent, or tactical war themed games and barely left the house. I remember him having a job for only a few weeks that he got fired from. Meeting each other was always discussed between us to finally alleviate our pain, but it required money we didn’t have, and I excused his unwillingness to make money to come visit me on having the same social and mental issues as me. He would even blame me for us not being together offline yet during his verbal assaults of me.

Like any man who abuses women, he treated me like less because I’m female. He wanted to dominate, control me, and treat me like a sexual object. He used me as his emotional punching bag online, then physically when I met him offline. Yet I still loved him like a battered wife would, and he knew this. Communicating over the internet added another layer of dehumanization that I faced.

As a man without psychological help, he was relying on me, the internet, and video games to feel better. Obviously, it all did a lot more harm. I know for myself, without internet use, I could have spent better use of my time facing my fears, getting to know new people by getting a job or going to college. I could have become closer with friends from the past by opening up about my trauma. Having an adequate support system in my life would have helped me gain more confidence and enough love for myself to leave an unhealthy relationship. My abuser and I weren’t very much into drugs or alcohol, it was constant internet use that became the unhealthiest coping mechanism. And for my abuser, a portal to access extreme misogynistic content and the development of fetishes while spending most of his time alone in his room, besides interacting with me, his desire, on messenger. If anything is a mix for a man getting off to himself being a woman, that might be it, and I was an unknowing participant in this fetish.

He was also into other paraphilias online. One of the things that led me to believe he had a good heart was that he claimed to love animals, he would express passion about animal rights, and rage at humanity for abusing animals. He tried to get me interested in furry artwork and at one point, admitted to me that he has watched pornographic videos of humans with animals. When I mentioned how this was abusive to animals, he explained it away by saying the animals looked like they enjoyed it.

When I moved in with him as adults, his internet use didn’t decrease much. Having me there wasn’t enough to satisfy him, even though I had nothing else to do besides provide him attention. I even begged for his attention. He still would rather spend his time dissociating from reality on his computer and watch pornography, leaving me to feel alone and unloved while sitting right next to him. It made me feel so empty, all that waiting and anticipation to be with my “soulmate,” only to be treated like I wasn’t there. Physical contact with him became more violent than ever intimate and I just wanted to die. Years after leaving him, I looked on his facebook page for safeguarding reasons and saw that he identified as a woman for a while, ordering family member to use female pronouns with him, then back to being a man. I’m guessing he didn’t want to go through medical transition and knew he is really a man.

Ten years on from leaving him, I still catch myself mindlessly using devices of dissociation instead of being fully in the moment, using relaxation techniques to relieve stress, or engaging in actions that create material change. One of the saddest things I’ve realized, is I gave up on drawing and writing in my 20’s because I internalized negative messages and thought I wasn’t good enough. Though I was never bad at these things and enjoyed engaging in them. I could have improved my skills during this time and it would have been healthier for me than what I was engaging in online to attempt to relieve stress. I am now 30 years old and struggle with writing, knowing I could be much better at it at my age.

The reason I bring up my past like this is to warn young people against this culture of dissociation. Being in this state of mind creates a population that can be easily manipulated and controlled by propaganda. Living in a virtual world can lead people to become apathetic to crimes committed by those in positions of power. Parallels can be made to generations in the past who engaged in collective drug use to protest the status quo instead of organizing to dismantle systems of power, with CIA involvement. I also share my story to prove how mentally ill, dissociative men who claim special identities still participate in the domination and oppression of women. Isolating myself with internet use took years away of my life and created lasting trauma on my already vulnerable brain.

In the way dissociating from reality as an attempt to deal with my issues was a harmful practice for me, gender ideology preys on vulnerable, mentally unhealthy young people of today with “good feeling” beliefs that are divorced from reality and keeps them trapped in an endless loop of instant gratification without actual inner healing work. It turns people away from sources of support, convincing them that the people who care about them the most are their enemies. Learning ways to better cope with stress and emotions instead of relying on technology and ideology that cause more stress and emotional issues, is a great solution for young people of today. Hopefully this recording of my experience will add to the conversation on how modern technologies, medicine, and ideological beliefs that separate people from reality are the great cultural ills of our time.

Against Transgender Policy in Female Private Facilities.

In recent years, there has been an ever-growing focus on ‘transgender rights’ in the media. Although it has made those who identify as transgender or transsexual feel validated and accepted where they once felt invisible. The mainstreaming of transgenderism in our social consciousness has also resulted in women’s concerns about gender identity policies, allowing male access to female spaces (bathrooms, changing rooms, showers, domestic abuse shelters, and prisons) to be dismissed, mocked, called paranoid, hateful, or otherwise ignored by proponents of the Left.

Parents who are rightfully concerned for their children going through harmful, high risk procedures, such as being put on puberty blockers, sterilization, breast binding, and mastectomies, because of a belief that someone can be born in the wrong body; or are protective of their girls being forced to share intimate spaces and compete with the opposite sex in sports; are mocked, ignored, and called hateful by those claiming to be progressive. It has become clear that any questioning and critical thinking of transgender ideology, populated on internet forums in recent years, is discouraged if not shut down.

Even when there are legitimate privacy and safety concerns for women and girls in spaces that can be easily accessed on the basis of a self declared “gender identity,” we are told only trans people are entitled to concern and a right to safety and privacy. We are told that biology is a social construct, but gender identity is legitimate, when there is no concrete evidence to back this up. And because trans awareness has been so popularized by the media and private interest groups, as the new oppressed group fighting for equal rights; women, homosexuals, and racial minorities, are believed to have already been granted equal rights, therefore, are no longer considered oppressed groups in need of legal protection anymore. This also allows for feminist voices on the issue to be silenced as bigotry.

The push for transgender bathroom policies and bills was set up as an LGBT issue; though many lesbians, gays, and bisexuals, including myself, disagree profoundly. There are men who experience gender dysphoria, who grew up socialized male, are primarily sexually attracted to females, and who desire to gain access to female private facilities for sexual gratification, or to abuse women and girls. So, to accuse anyone who disagrees with that and finds this to be a privacy violation, of being anti-LGB, is extremely inaccurate. And it actually denies homosexuality, by telling gays and lesbians not wanting sexual relations with the opposite sex is transphobic, as evidenced by the term cotton ceiling, and many exchanges between gender critical lesbians and transactivists online. Accusations of transphobia are commonly made when someone disagrees with transgender ideological ideas which deny biological material reality altogether, even though many people who have gone through transition do acknowledge their biological sex. These accusations are merely being used as a political card to silence dissidents of this irrational ideology.

The main concern for most women, is about maintaining our boundaries, to protect our right to compete and live safely away from male bodies, male violence, and the types of harassment and sexual violations we are largely targeted for. It is not about subscribing to a hateful ideology against “trans people”. However, these tactics against women’s rights does not mean right wing ideologues aren’t using women and children’s safety as a means to promote their conservative agendas and to justify discrimination against gender non-conformity in the name of religious values. Trans-identified people deserve human rights and respect just as everyone else, those who have chosen to transition also don’t deserve hate. Ignoring voices from women on the Left who are critical of this ideology in our government and institutions leaves a many of us politically homeless.

Our problem is with people on the Left who disallow any disagreement or critical analyses of gender ideological ideas and who ignore legitimate arguments about women and girls’ privacy and sense of security, as simply being based on the discrimination of trans people. Even though these sex-based protections were fought for by women for females, so we can fully participate in a patriarchal society. How is this fair to half of the population? It tells us that we, as a sex class, cannot speak about our own struggles and rights, that we don’t matter in politics. Female victims of trauma like myself, feel as though our experiences and legitimate fears are being invalidated and washed over. Let alone the statistics and the vast number of reports about trans identified male violence and sex offenses toward women and girls, which are widely covered up, and instead called crimes perpetrated by women.

I am one of these, child sexual abuse, rape, and domestic abuse survivors being called a bigot for believing women have a right to protect our sex specific spaces. Whatever people may think about me, I know deep down that this is wrong and is actually rooted in society’s deep-rooted, collective misogyny. Here I will make my case that transgender policies are dangerous and when forcibly mandated, could be compared to condoning institutionalized sexual abuse.

I struggle with C-PTSD every day from multiple crimes that happened to me because I grew up female in a misogynistic culture. It started out with me being sexually abused by my older brother as a child. He groomed me when my parents were away and coerced me into silence by using emotional blackmail against me. He used my sexuality against me when I was very young and forced me to do things with abusive bullying. As a child who developed a lot of anxiety, I feared “my dirty little secret” getting out, reducing my social standing to a ‘whore’. We were not a highly religious family, yet I still feared this judgment. A part of me also wanted to protect my brother and I did not want to be blamed for participating in being abused. He continued to threaten to tell people “my little secret” whenever I refused to do what he wanted until I hit puberty. His sexual abuse mostly consisted of rubbing against me with his penis through clothing, forcing me to strip in front of him, using pornography, and masturbating in front of me. A few times, it was more serious, he tried to penetrate me at one point.

Once, when I was getting ready to shower, I noticed something shiny at the bottom of the bathroom door, which was my brother trying to peep on me undressing and taking a shower by using a knife to see me in the reflection. I was furious at him, screaming at him to leave me alone, but that was not my life. My life consisted of a male having control over my body, refusing me boundaries, privacy, and bodily integrity by having my most intimate parts violated. I felt as though I was powerless to stop it. This was ‘normal’ life for me as a girl, my consent did not matter, it was not even considered. It was all about me being a sexual object for him, along with large amounts of sexually objectifying media of women surrounding me. I know I internalized messages that this was how women were supposed to behave and be treated. I knew that if I were born a boy, society would be set up for the benefit of me, that I would not be viewed as an inferior sex object. It actually sounded good to me as a bisexual, gender rejecter to be a boy. In this way, I can understand how trauma leads to people identifying out of their sex.

I caught him spying on me on a few more occasions after that, and one time I remember him forcing me to shower in front of him while he watched. From then on, whenever I took a shower, I feared that he was spying on me. It should be common sense that there’s horny boys desperate to spy on women and girls undressing and would find any means to do it and to get away with it. As an abused girl, I knew this was a thing some boys wanted to do. In a society that disbelieves and blames women and girls when they come forward about sexual abuse, that says “boys will be boys”, many get away with it too. Transgender ideology tries to erase this lived experience of being female. It focuses on gender being an innate experience, instead of being an oppressive, social role that has been forced on females for centuries, and so, therefore, males who believe their gender is female, also experience life as females.

If this were the case, they would be more sympathetic and understanding about their female peers in schools who are going through puberty, or are traumatized, or simply don’t want to change and shower around males. But even when trans-identified males are accommodated with single, unisex rooms, they turn them down claiming it makes them feel “othered” and discriminated against, even when the school puts in the effort to recognize their gender identity, uses their preferred pronouns, and includes them as girls in extracurricular activities.

This example shows that forced validation is more important to them than actual security. Whereas our concerns are about the safety and privacy of women and girls. There have not been any cases that prove they are at a significantly higher risk of danger in male bathrooms or changing rooms, but all the demands for the burden of proof are on violations committed by ‘transwomen’ or ‘transgirls’ preying on women and girls, of which there are believed to be none, or very rare, exaggerated instances. But even when trans identified male attacks are brought up, they claim the offenders must not be ‘truly trans’.

Girls are told that if something does happen to them, it is already illegal, so then why can’t the same argument be applied to transgender identifying males within male spaces? If there are problems with abuse and harassment, it should absolutely be addressed, without having to force women or girls to sacrifice their sense of security for a tiny minority of males. It only takes one boy to abuse gender identity policy and scar the lives of multiple female students. Title IX was created to protect young women and girls by setting up sex-segregated facilities and athletic activities, so women and girls can achieve academic equality. Gender identity policies will make it easier for predators to prey on vulnerable women and girls and out-compete them in achievements intended for females, this will only set us back.

I know for a fact there are trans-identified males who prey on females because I was in a relationship with one. Growing into a teenager, at age 15 I met a boy online that I became infatuated with. I wanted a boyfriend and didn’t feel comfortable being with another girl yet. I also had crippling anxiety when it came to talking to boys or girls. Because of my trauma, I was desperate to feel loved and receive attention from a boy. This unusual, online relationship quickly became an abusive situation for me because an abnormal situation was already normalized in my life. Through my teenage years he cheated on me and was interested in multiple girls, he and my best friend were even talking behind my back. But he would always defend himself by saying that he loved me the most, that these girls that he met before were just good friends, and that he liked having girls as friends more than boys, though he grew up with a group of close guy friends. Of course, these were excuses to cover up his many lies and deceit.

Having my best friend since childhood, and a boy who I thought was my soulmate hurt me in that way was soul-crushing. I became severely depressed, self-harmed, and wanted to kill myself. I then decided to open up to him that I was sexually abused by my brother as a child and felt as though I was treated like worthless trash by the people closest to me, when all I wanted was their love. His first reaction was thinking I was lying to get sympathy, his other reactions were that of disgust for me, jealousy, and anger at my brother.

Fighting was always bad with him, he became increasingly verbally and emotionally abusive. Calling me ugly, stupid, using my insecurities against me, insulting parts of my body, and saying other horribly misogynistic and violent things against me. It became worse when I stopped interacting with him during bad arguments, usually to escape his anger and abuse. He did this as a way to punish me and get me to give in, then later claiming he did not mean the things that he said. Later on, he decided to use what I told him against me, mocking that I was sexual abused, saying that I liked it, and threatening to call my mom and tell her about it. I would eventually excuse his behavior, because I believed he was one of my only friends and he would act madly in love with me when he wasn’t being abusive to me. We played games together, shared mutual goals about our future and living together. It is hard to explain how our relationship lasted for so long, because of the contradicting dynamic, switching between extremes of love and hatred. Still, I was convinced he was my soulmate and didn’t understand the extent of his abusive side until too late.

Throughout the relationship, he became very aggressive and hostile when angry, or distant, depressed, hypersensitive, and moody. He knew he had mental health issues and said that he might have bipolar disorder. He and his mother fought frequently, there were some bad ones that I don’t know details of, only that the cops were called on him. He told me he also believed she had bipolar disorder. Gender dysphoria is found to be comorbid with borderline personality disorder, narcissism, bipolar disorder, PTSD, psychotic disorder, or people on the autistic spectrum. Whatever the case, from my experience with him, he had problems with his mood and disordered, delusional thinking. He expressed mostly male oriented, dominating behavior, interests, and desires. This was not an act either, he was genuinely interested in these things. Nothing ever indicated to me that he was all that different from other men out there, besides the fact that he was a creative person with an odd personality.

After forgiving him for past “mistakes,” I moved in with him at his mom’s house in North Carolina at the age of 20, far away from my small town in Minnesota. Here I was physically abused by him multiple times. I sometimes reacted in anger to his verbal abuse by pushing or hitting him on the shoulder as a trauma reaction and he used this as an excuse to hit me harder. One time I pushed him away when he aggressively got up close to my face to intimate me when he felt he couldn’t control me and to try and make me submit to his domination when I tried to get away from him. Every time he yelled at me when I tried to escape into the bathroom, I was left speechless and motionless, fearing his terrifying rage, but that only made him angrier.

When he was cornering me, sometimes the only thing I felt that I could do was to try to push him away from me. He reacted by shoving me down hard onto the floor or into something that was behind me. When I wanted to get away from him during an argument, I went into the bathroom next to his room. One time he barged in aggressively pushing me down into the tub, holding me down, smacking and screaming at me, all because I wanted to go in the other room away from him. Another time he started shouting out loud that I “sucked my brother’s dick,” this made me freak out because I felt powerless to make him stop psychologically torturing me.

Eventually I laid there crying on the floor, he then went into a rage and kicked me in my ribs and back while I was laying down in the fetal position, sobbing. A few times he would cry after beating me while remaining cold and unsympathetic. One time he threatened to kill me, chop me up, and bury me in his yard if I would not stop trying to escape from him in the bathroom and crying. This was after I found out he was using pornography behind my back. Sexually, he rarely ever pleasured me, it was mostly about me pleasuring him, and thankfully, no ‘PIV’ penetration. When we interacted online, he would pressure me to show myself in sexual positions on webcam and became angry if I was being “too boring” for him.

After I moved back home from living with him for almost a year, I was in a traumatized state. Because I was not thinking straight, I never told my parents, and still had hope that we could fix our issues together. It was difficult for me to let him go because I had dedicated so much of my life to him, but everything started coming back to me, I started struggling with flashbacks and insomnia. I started demanding apologies and explanations from him. He acted like I was in the wrong for being upset at him for his abuse, which he would deny or claim I was just as bad. I told him how it made me feel that he had used my sexual abuse as a child against me and he used the excuse that he thought I was lying. This made me feel even worse and I expressed to him how that feels like as a female who’s been oppressed by males all her life. His response was to turn the attention onto himself, saying it has been a struggle for him hiding that he sometimes feels like a woman.

He told me he believes he is transgender, that he is both a man and a woman on the inside, and that is why he was so depressed when I was with him. This was his excuse for his misogynistic abuse of me. He then acted like I was in the wrong for not sympathizing with him. When I asked him, what makes him feel like a ‘woman’, one example he gave to me, is that he was good at finding nice-looking women’s clothing for me. Another was that he isn’t disgusted by transwomen as he is with men and gets off to penetrating himself. When I was living with him, I found women’s panties in his closet and he said it was his mothers. I believe he wore these to act out an autogynephilic fantasy.  After this conversation, I believe I was left in a more traumatized state than before. I even went to go cry next to where my brother was, because I was stuck living with him at my mom’s house. I had nowhere else to live, which is one of the reasons I wanted to move away. This was my reward for staying loyal to him for up to 6 years.

My experience with him was that of mental/emotional torment and annihilation, like he was trying to destroy every good part left of me. It felt like the erasure of my experience as a woman because he didn’t even allow me to express my lived experience as a female. There is no way he could be partly female, since there is no way he could understand the female experience. He severely abused me after my brother did, and I was treated as a sex object again by multiple men after him because I was so traumatized and easy to victimize. He was a misogynist, and I was fooled into thinking I was his equal counterpart. I would never feel safe around any man who treats women like this, whatever they identify as. I get a totally different experience of feeling safe and understood when relating to other women.

To then be told by transgender ideology and defenders, or the Biden Administration, that my abuser is actually innately female, or otherwise, non-male, because he says so, or because he has experienced gender dysphoria before, is psychological and emotional abuse all over again. Some opponents I have told my story to have said he is not really transgender because he was an abusive man to me, as they say with other trans-identified males who commit crimes against women and girls. Through my research and observations, it happens all the time. There are many female abuse victims of men once called, transvestites, who displayed the same type of male supremacist and entitled, fetishistic behavior in their relationships, look up trans widows. Even if my abuser did act more ‘feminine’ or wanted to be a woman, that should not mean he is any more of a woman compared to other men. That is a stereotypical, regressive way of thinking in a highly gendered society. A man having a delusion of being a woman does not make them anymore like a woman, especially when they associate moods, personality traits, stereotypical feminine traits, and the presentation of a woman, with being an actual woman.

A person who identifies as a transwoman, who grew up and was socialized as a boy by a patriarchal culture in a male body, could not know what growing up as a female is like, and in many instances is not something to be desired. To go from one misogynistic man to the next, being blamed for harassment or assault for what you were wearing, or what you were doing; living in a culture where violent depictions against women are sexualized; men and boys harassing you for developing breasts early or having small breasts, to being raped for having a vagina at drunken parties, in college, or by your own boyfriend or husband. Misogynistic abuse and sexist attitudes are so commonplace in our pornified culture, the list is endless.

‘Transphobic” crimes are committed by the same types of violent male perpetrators, but they are usually done for homophobic reasons, prostitution, or an abusive relationship, not for the sole reason that they’re perceived as women. That is why the term ‘transmisogyny’ does not make sense. Especially if they are born into privileged classes of being light-skinned, heterosexual, or wealthy. Their issues are totally alien from homosexual issues, which does not make transgender rights a fight for civil rights or the homosexual community. Otherwise, it is saying rights for heterosexual, white men are a part of homosexual and minority rights.

As a liberal-minded young person, I would have thought no predatory, heterosexual man would go through the lengths of humiliating himself by wearing a dress and wig and calling himself a woman to prey on them, but my experience shows otherwise. And I know as a child sexual abuse survivor, that it is wrong to disregard women and girls’ boundaries in any context. Anyone who identifies as transgender or transsexual is not automatically predatory, and that shouldn’t automatically be assumed, but many of those fighting for trans rights do not care about women or girls’ boundaries. The fact that women and girls are expected to share their traumas to prove why we need protected spaces should be evidenced enough. It took abusive situations for me to realize this, and I fear it will take many more until we are finally believed. There are men out there who obsess over women like a fetish, and who live to prey on women, look up autogynephilia. Not every transgender-identified male transitions or even desire to. My message is not to label on trans identified men as predatory based on my personal experience, but their record definitely is not as clean as their side proclaims it to be. Males make up around 90-99% of sexual and violent offenders, and the statistics do not change with transgender identified males.

People experience gender dysphoria in different ways, for some, it is more extreme, where they are convinced the only way they can feel comfortable in their own skin is to go through full transitional surgery. Whereas for others, it is only experienced mildly or occasionally, which can be compared to anyone who grows up not fitting into society’s gender norms and expectations. Even when you take a look at transgender ideology’s “gender identity spectrum”, you see many different vaguely defined genders listed that could fit anyone who doesn’t fit into societal gender stereotypes. How does it make any sense for women and girls to be forced to share their spaces with males claiming to be non-binary, genderless, or gender fluid?

How are women and young girls supposed to be expected to know whether a person they perceive as male is ‘truly transgender’ or not a threat? Would it be considered discriminatory if women are uncomfortable around trans identified males even if they look exactly like a men because their inner experience of being female is more protected? And why are women and girls not allowed to question their presence or kick them out if they feel threatened under a transgender policy? Why don’t more people consider those with a history of abuse and or rape of women and girls being allowed in? And what about predators who try to hide their past crimes with a new identity? Many of these things are not even considered by those who think of themselves as compassionate people.

I have been taught all my life that I must always put others before myself, that I come last. Part of female gender socialization is to teach girls that becoming a good woman requires caring for others’ wants and needs and always being polite. This results in other people’s priorities, thoughts, and feelings being treated with more importance than our own. Mothers are left doing most of the care work, men then grow up relying on women to cater to their desires, because they are not socialized in the same way. This allows men to put more interest into themselves. Because of these high expectations placed on women and girls, and not men, our needs are often neglected, and we are left without female solidarity. It also makes it difficult for us to feel like we can say ‘no’ or to fight for better treatment. Many live in a constant hyper-vigilant state because of men and struggle finding spaces where we can feel secure. After being pushed around and walked over, when we finally stand up for ourselves, we are considered crazy, even evil. Now, transphobic, is another label that can be put on traumatized women and girls.

We are told since we are very young how to stay safe from predatory men, that men are naturally violent, but then are told our fears around male-bodied people are unfounded and irrational. We are told men intruding on women and girls’ safe spaces is not enough of a problem to worry about. We are told even if a male has a history of rape, abuse, and other sex offenses against females, or makes women and girls feel afraid or harassed, we still have no right to question their identity or compare them to the male abusers and misogyny experienced in our own lives. We are told transwomen are women, end of discussion. It does not matter that most do not go through full transitional surgery to remove their penis, or that sexual-dimorphism still makes them larger and physically stronger than females. Outside of our Western culture wars, women and girls across the globe are still fighting for safer, female-only spaces.

It should come as no surprise, that trans policy has been implemented without question, where the most vulnerable women and girls reside; in domestic abuse shelters, feminist organizations, women’s support groups, and prisons. Why are the rights, dignity, and feelings of the most vulnerable women of society not even acknowledged, while the validation of dangerous predators’ gender identity is? Since male prisons in the U.S. are overcrowded, the prison industry is more than willing to accommodate high-risk prisoners by letting them be housed with females. Instead of stomping down on sexual assaults that frequently occur in their prisons, the problem is left with a large population of victims of sexual abuse. And since our society lacks safe shelters for men, women’s shelters are being sacrificed when it’s women who are in most demand for services, especially during a pandemic.

Dysphoria means discomfort and unhappiness with one’s self or situation. In our society, it is no wonder that many girls and young lesbians grow up wanting to be male. We are treated as sub-human, subservient, less than our male counterparts, lesbians are treated like freaks or otherwise fetishized for their sexuality. We’re taught it is wrong to step outside of socialized gender and heteronormative norms and demands. It is extremely common for girls to experience body dysmorphia during puberty and after because of the messages we internalize about beauty and the female body. On the contrary, the male perspective is given more focus than a female one, and boys are taught to be logical, scientific, political, and dominant. Transgender ideology does not serve solutions to fix these problems, it makes them worse in many instances.

Joe Biden’s executive orders and the Equality Act in his first weeks in office, redefines biological sex with gender identity in the law. Completing what the Obama Administration tried to achieve in 2016, when Obama used his federal powers to force all public-school districts to adopt a transgender policy in bathrooms and locker rooms or lose federal funding. Recognizing gender identity in the place of biology, is complete reversal of what Title IX was created for.

This is just another instance of people in positions of power using their authority to rule over women and girls’ lives, equating sex with gender, without a clear definition of gender identity. Obscuring the definition of ‘woman’ and ‘girl’, who are the victims of misogynistic abuse. This makes us feel powerless all over again and invisible in society. Our voices and experiences as girls are silenced like we do not matter compared to boys with gender dysphoria. The whole debate is set up as a partisan issue, leaving the issue of women and girls’ safety, and the right to say no, in the back, and turned into a defense for homophobia, or anti-abortion, by the right-wing. What is happening in politics is female erasure, which is already present in male-dominated politics.

The only allyship feminists can find in the conservative and religious right, particularly on this issue, is with other women on feminist specific issues. Which despite what trans dogma says, an allyship between party lines can and does exist. Please take the time to read the examples below, these are other testimonies of sexual assault survivors against transgender bathroom policies, their religious or political views are irrelevant to the issues they speak about.

These policies, which are not based on science and lack definition, are being introduced and forced onto school-aged girls by our representatives and senators when the normalization of sexual violations like what happened to me, are so commonplace and being spread online.

Schools are being threatened with federal defunding if they do not comply with vague, unscientific transgender policy rules. Female students are now being told they have no right to complain about feeling uncomfortable. These new bills aren’t about harm reduction, nor are they necessary reforms of TitleIX; it is the destruction of it’s intended purpose; making sexual abuse acceptable under law.

Vancouver Women’s Library Vandalized – The Violent Trans/Queer Lobby in Action

This extreme intimidation is completely anti-woman and anti-feminist. Vandalizing feminist literature, and attempting to scare women out of a feminist space shows a complete lack of respect for women’s struggle and the history of that struggle to gain our humanity and rights. These patriarchal male dominating tactics  of making feminists the enemy should prove beyond a doubt that the new left is attempting to erase woman, our right to organize, and our history of intellectualism and achievements for a cult mindset.

Dead Wild Roses

I’m not sure when the definition of  progressive queer activism changed to mean defiling and destroying women’s spaces, but unsurprisingly, the violent men of Queer activism (terrorism) are at it again.   And quite honestly, they (GAG) can fuck the hell right off – violent patriarchal repression of women with a shiny coat of queer paint is still male violence and misogyny – and has no place in a society that claims to value women and stand for ‘equality’.

This violent shit doesn’t raise eyebrows or cause a stir in the media because the targets are only women after all.  Meghan Murphy and the Guerrilla Feminist Collective are on the case though.    Thank heavens.

Transactivists vandalize, destroy books, and harass feminists at the Vancouver Womens Library

Transactivists are aggressive and violent. Males intimidating, threatening, and shouting down women because they want to force them to accommodate feminism for them. This is the silencing and terrorism of women.

Reply from Michigan State RE: Closure of the Women’s Lounge

a rain and a gale

I was so incensed by the news that Michigan State’s women’s lounge was closing in favor of something more “inclusive” that I wrote the university’s president imploring her to re-open it. I kept it short and to-the-point:

This is the reply I received:

An Open Letter to Michigan State re: The Women’s Lounge You’re Destroying

the velvet blue

Dear Michigan State University,

The first thing you should knowabout me is that I’ve looked up to you as an institution since I was a child. If there is such a thing as a legacy MSU student, I was one—the third generation in my family to be offered admission at MSU and accept. I graduated from Michigan State’s professional writing program in 2009 with high honors, and I have proudly represented my alma mater since.

The second thing you should know about me is that I am a woman, a fact that has had a profound impact on my life experiences in general and those I had in college in particular.

I come from a small town in northern Michigan, so it was not until college that I learned to fear walking alone at night. It was not until college that I experienced walking to a party and being followed…

I was just reading an article about how a self-proclaimed men’s rights activist got Michigan State to close their women-only lounge based on cries of “discrimination against men.” When you’re done hurling plates against the wall, sign this petition to reopen the lounge and provide a safe space for women.

Please repost!

Also, feel free to write the university’s president Lou Anna K. Simon here:

Sacred Kink II: Rebels Without A Cause

When I stumbled over sadomasochism in my late teens, I felt like everybody was getting something I didn’t. Why did they choose a Marquis as a symbol of the huddled masses? Why was whipping people associated with freedom for these people? Why did sadomasochists try to make themselves out as an oppressed minority and “the cool kids” simultaneously?

It was like an inside joke, and I was determined to get behind it. I mean, it was there. When I came out as a Lesbian, one of the first books I read about being a Lesbian had a long section in it about how to do sadomasochism (and another one mocking separatism). Our local women’s and Lesbians’ café held sadomasochistic workshops. And I was a leftist. By sheer association I figured I should be okay with it.

I went to university, and of course sadomasochism was there, too. Again, student organisations…

Why Your “Female Brain” Doesn’t Matter

“We’re surprised when we read stories about “women” who break into houses and ejaculate in underwear drawers, molest children or murder their spouses. Then, when we learn the perpetrators were born male, we’re not surprised anymore. Because the words “woman” and “man” mean something.”

Porn and Sexual Liberation

“Tears fall, quite rightly, when we hear of the exploitation of sweat-shop workers, but when it’s the blood, sweat, tears and other bodily fluids of people in porn at issue, we get told that it’s not exploitation it’s sexual freedom. Whose sexual freedom? Economic freedom for the porn industry, sexual and economic exploitation for the workers.”

Porn and Sexual Liberation

I’m told that porn is all about choice; the choice to make porn and the choice to use it. I can understand that – we’d all love to have plenty of choice in our sex lives. And I can see there’s plenty of choice involved in porn: business choice for the pornographers, economic choice for the multi-national porn industry, consumer choice for porn users. Pornographers, the porn industry, the johns, all exercise their choice to profit from the sale and use of women’s, children’s and men’s bodies. The former three have the greater choices (if what the latter are left with can be said to even constitute a choice at all).

I’m told that porn is just fantasy, not…

Porn Myths

Anti-Porn Feminists

One Angry Girl has a great porn myths resource up on her web site. The image is interactive (on her website, not here!), with each thought balloon leading to a refutation of that myth.

Here’s one example:

“The relationship between particularly sexually violent images in the media and subsequent aggression…is much stronger statistically than the relationship between smoking and lung cancer.”

–Researcher Edward Donnerstein

Many porn apologists have theorized that using pornography helps oversexed men get those nasty impulses out of their system safely.  Without porn, they insist, more rapes would occur.

We at o.a.g. know this isn’t true, because despite the phenomenal growth of all kinds of porn during the last few decades, reported rapes have increased 500% since 1960, according to the National Victim Center.  In New York City in 2002, for example, all crime decreased except rape, which increased.

We also know that statistics don’t always…

Walking It Back

“I don’t want criticizing transgenderism to be used as an excuse for a backlash from the right against homosexuals, but it has a good chance of playing out that way, because the left can’t own the discussion because the left won’t allow the discussion to happen.”

There Are So Many Things Wrong With This

I was talking to someone the other day about Obama’s order on transgenderism, and she said she it was hard to see how we could walk this one back.

My initial reaction was to say that medicine has to lead the way, since they validated it in the first place. Stop with the junk diagnoses and acknowledge that there are several different things going on here:

1. People have genuine severe body dysphorias (rare) and want surgery to remove parts.
2. Men with autogynephilia (crossdressing sexual fetish) are increasingly being allowed in under this validating umbrella, a fetish that is correlated to some extent with the committing of violent sex crimes, and these men are treated as misfortunates who need support.
3. Lesbians are socially pressured into medical transitioning if they do not perform femininity.
4. Adolescents don’t feel comfortable with their changing bodies and/or their personalities don’t align with…

The UN’s Good vs. Bad Narrative Clears the Way for Sexual Violence and Impunity

“The narrative is this: people living in these “war torn” societies don’t have the same moral values as the troops who come, often but not always from Western countries, to protect them. As the Blue Helmets head off on their expeditions, they’re applauded for bravely choosing to bring decency into a country where citizens are too barbaric to look after themselves. It’s this good vs. bad narrative that clears the way for violence.”

Content warning: Rape, Sexual violence and abuse

by Maya Goodfellow

A Blue Helmet’s job is, quite literally, to keep the peace. The UN peacekeepers whose nickname comes from their characteristic headwear, are supposed to protect people in countries torn apart by war. However a steady drip of accusations coming out of the Central African Republic (CAR) suggests it’s Blue Helmets who are the threat to civilian safety.

Three girls in the CAR have told a harrowing tale, in which a French peacekeeper tied them up, along with their friend, stripped them and then forced them to have sex with a dog. This sickening abuse of power is not isolated. Soldiers from France, Gabon, and Burundi have allegedly committed atrocious acts of sexual abuse against women and girls in the CAR. Just last year, peacekeepers reportedly forced refugee children to perform sex acts on them, telling them it was the only way…

How does a pro-prostitution organisation who put under-aged girls into a brothel and who has been accused by police of keeping a brothel receive a human rights award?

This is not a new story but, with the recent events surrounding a UNAIDS advisor being imprisoned for 15 years for pimping and sex trafficking, it is pertinent. Alejandra Gil was the founder of APROASE and Vice-President of NSWP, a group which advised UNAIDS. WHO acknowledges Gil as having assisted them in writing their recommendations. When Amnesty International was asked to name the groups with which it had consulted to reach its decision on decriminalisation, UNAIDS and WHO were the names it consistently trotted out—as did its supporters. As a side note, it’s interesting that the majority of sex worker rights organisations are staunchly defending the innocence of Gil. I have yet to see any of them defend the prostituted women who were brave enough to give evidence against Gil.

“Gender identity” legislation and the erosion of sex-based legal protections for females

“This definition of “gender identity” does not require any objective proof. Rather, it merely requires the person seeking protection to assert that he or she identifies as the sex opposite his or her sex at birth. Further, because Title 11 only permits discrimination in sex-segregated facilities based on sex, a person asserting gender identity as a basis to avoid “discrimination” must be permitted to use the rest room or bath house of their chosen “gender identity” – without regard to any action taken on the part of that individual to change their physiology to “become female” (i.e., sex reassignment surgery.)”

Regressive Ideas Dressed Up as Progressive: The New Left.

With women’s liberation, civil rights, and homosexual rights, historically oppressed and subjugated minorities have gained more ground in society. Though, in response, there has been a giant cultural backlash, with structural oppression manifesting in numerous forms as a result. One way this is done, and often overlooked, is through the appropriation or co-opting of progressive ideas that help continue to serve capitalist, patriarchal ideals, instead of dismantling them. Another is through our collective unconscious, learned, and internalized prejudices carried along through the technological advances of the time. Often, the problem lies in the ignorance, arrogance, and lack of solidarity with marginalized groups’ issues from more privileged members of society, who don’t face the same issues and experiences, so find it hard to relate. This keeps a tradition of white, male, and upper-class supremacy in place in our culture, despite the tireless efforts of the oppressed to change the system.

This is a long list of some examples of what should be outdated, conservative, or anti-feminist forms of thought, that seeped into the politics of the progressive movement:

  1. Domination and submission are a natural part of human sexuality and romance.
  2. Domination, submission, & violence are a natural/inevitable part of male & female relations.
  3. Getting off to the fantasy of having power over women isn’t misogynistic; it can be feminist.
  4. Dehumanizing portrayals of women in pornography doesn’t reinforce, nor encourage violence against women.
  5. Hardcore pornography is just meeting market demand.
  6. Criminalizing/banning violent and abusive depictions in pornography is censorship and against freedom of speech/expression.
  7. Criminalizing/banning child pornography or sexualized depictions of children is oppressive because it’s a violation of freedom of speech/expression.
  8. Female porn actresses are never raped in the making of pornography.
  9. Women are never coerced into sex acts in the making of pornography.
  10. Women featured in pornography are never harmed in it because it is a choice.
  11. Pornography doesn’t cause harm to women and girls in society.
  12. Pornography doesn’t condition boys’ thoughts on girls/women, and sexuality.
  13. Pornography is a good educational tool for sex; it doesn’t teach rape myths.
  14. Pornography is about sexual liberation and has no connection to systemic oppression.
  15. The porn industry is completely safe and consensual.
  16. There are no corrupt porn companies.
  17. Pornography is feminist and a healthy reflection of sexuality.
  18. If there were no prostitution or pornography, men wouldn’t be able to control their sex drives around women.
  19. Male violence against women in pornography shouldn’t be stopped because it is needed to prevent men from perpetrating crimes against women.
  20. Violence and misogyny depicted in pornography are just fantasy.
  21. By fetishizing misogyny, sexism, racism, ableism, sexual abuse/slavery as just play; it overcomes these issues in reality.
  22. Using historical or current oppressions as pornographic scene themes is simple, fun, entertainment.
  23. It’s a form of bigotry for historically oppressed groups to be offended by people imitating their oppression in pornography or as a sexual fetish.
  24. It’s more socially acceptable to make oppression into an erotic art in society than it is to fight against it.
  25. Parody or satire negates sexism, racism, homophobia, classism, ableism, etc.
  26. Oppressed groups who are offended by sexist, racist, homophobic & ableist, etc. jokes are humorless.
  27. Oppression and abuse are funny.
  28. Feminist women against the sex trade are just prudish about sex.
  29. It’s oppressive to women to be against the sexual objectification of women.
  30. Women who refuse to recreate porn acts with their partners are frigid prudes.
  31. Girlfriends and wives should accept their boyfriend or husband’s porn use or else they’re prudes and not open about sexuality.
  32. Women who are against media that depicts the degradation or hyper-sexualization of women are moralist prudes.
  33. Violence & pain during sex creates a greater bond between two lovers because it evolved naturally with sexual intercourse.
  34. The male desire for dominance isn’t something that can be controlled.
  35. Women secretly desire for men to be dominant and violent toward them.
  36. Dominant & submissive roles, along with some violence, are necessary for relationships to function.
  37. Punishing your partner and spanking them to relieve frustrations is healthy and acceptable if it’s done as a sexual fetish.
  38. Relationships that practice consensual violence, domination, and submission are superior to other relationships.
  39. There is more consent in BDSM relationships and sexual encounters.
  40. Creating a safe word other than ‘no’ doesn’t minimize the meaning of the word.
  41. Creating safewords other than the words ‘no’ or ‘stop’ is more consensual.
  42. Sexual dominance is masculine, and submissiveness is feminine.
  43. Equality and mutual respect during sex are too plain and boring.
  44. Sex is about getting instant gratification.
  45. Trauma can be healed through further humiliation & pain in power exchange relationships.
  46. Trauma bonding is part of gaining full trust, forgiveness, and agreement in a relationship.
  47. If a woman agrees to subordinate herself to a man, then it is empowering to her as a woman.
  48. One should embrace sexual feelings that might arise from their own past, or current, traumatic sexual abuse.
  49. Getting a sense of fulfillment from the desire to dominate and control others is a normal sexual desire that has nothing to do with abuse.
  50. Pornography hasn’t been used as patriarchal manuals by men.
  51. Pornography has no relation to prostitution.
  52. Pornography used to coerce or groom people into degrading sex acts or prostitution isn’t a big societal issue.
  53. Pornography has no big influence on culture or on people’s behavior and attitude toward women and girls.
  54. The women featured in porn choose it, so porn doesn’t perpetuate sexual objectification and degradation.
  55. The porn industry doesn’t promote pedophilia, child molestation, and child pornography by sexualizing teens and young women as virginal girls.
  56. There is no science to prove pornography influences people’s attitudes or behavior.
  57. There’s absolutely no science to back up the claim that pornography has an effect on men committing sex crimes.
  58. Pornography doesn’t reinforce or promote misogyny.
  59. Violent & degrading, sex and pornography are liberating & empowering for women.
  60. A woman can still be a feminist by participating in & promoting misogynistic, and dehumanizing depictions in pornography.
  61. It’s sex-negative and bigoted to be opposed to male pornographic fantasies of degrading, raping, torturing, or molesting women/girls, because it’s just fantasy.
  62. Women being roughed/beat up by a man who penetrates them for pornography is just a job.
  63. Being at risk for sexually transmitted diseases without required protection is just a part of the job.
  64. Calling women whores, sluts, bitches, cum dumpsters, etc. is sexy and okay in porn.
  65. Sex can be reduced to a transaction; not a mutually equal bond between people.
  66. Sex trafficking and sexual exploitation are not inevitable consequences of a growing globalized sex industry; they’re an inevitable result of the criminalization of the sex industry.
  67. The criminalization of prostitution is just like drug criminalization, leading to the exact same results.
  68. The sex trade commodifying female bodies doesn’t lead to sex trafficking.
  69. The sex industry has no relation or close relationship to organized crime.
  70. Prostitution isn’t the result of poverty and patriarchy.
  71. Men in power paying for sex with women on the side isn’t sexist; it’s receiving a service.
  72. Women are sexual objects to be used, bought, and sold for men’s amusement and sexual entitlement.
  73. Men’s sexual right to purchase women for sex is a part of women’s sexual liberation.
  74. Having sexual access to women is a need that must be provided for men.
  75. Paying for sex or access to another person’s body is a human right.
  76. Paying for sex or the bodies of prostitutes is always fully consensual.
  77. Money equals consent in prostitution.
  78. Privileged men with money isn’t a power dynamic in prostitution.
  79. Men paying to access women’s bodies isn’t about having power over women; women have the power of sexuality over men.
  80. Women selling their bodies to be penetrated by men is empowering and gives women more power in society.
  81. Equality means ignoring power relations between different groups of people.
  82. Feminists have no business critically analyzing or questioning women’s life decisions, even if they were made within a patriarchal cultural context.
  83. Coercion is a choice that women have some personal responsibility in.
  84. Women being influenced by beauty standards in the media is empowering and of assistance to them.
  85. Unreasonable beauty standards in the media shouldn’t be prevented, as it’s just a reflection of our human desire to idealize certain features.
  86. The beauty/modelling industry doesn’t significantly contribute to the sexual objectification or harm of women and girls.
  87. Women are meant to be of sexual service to men, and men are meant to be sexually served by women in society.
  88. It’s women and girls’ right to sell their sexuality to men in a capitalist, patriarchy, in order to make a living.
  89. Some women are more useful for the sexual use of their bodies, they shouldn’t be encouraged to strive to contribute any more than that in society.
  90. Women had agency in prostitution throughout history, even though there were highly patriarchal societies back then.
  91. Modern-day prostitution used to be considered a sacred part of the spiritual worship of womanhood in the ancient past.
  92. Soliciting people on the street for sex is just a business method used to get more customers & employees; never a form of sexual harassment.
  93. If a man cheats on his significant other to fulfill his desire for certain sex acts with younger, prostituted women; it should never be condemned, because you’d be condemning a man’s natural sexuality.
  94. Men believing they have a right to access female bodies that fit patriarchal beauty standards & what they see in porn, to do what they want with sexually, has nothing to do with male domination.
  95. Men’s right to buy access to women’s bodies must never be challenged, because you’d be condemning a man’s natural sexuality.
  96. Monogamy is a forced, oppressive, social institution; polygamy is natural so isn’t.
  97. Men believing they should be able to have multiple sexual/romantic relationships with women at one time because it’s their natural sexuality has nothing to do with patriarchal male entitlement/power.
  98. Pointing out the sexual objectification of women in the sex trade in a capitalist, patriarchy is whorephobic and leads to their deaths.
  99. Sexual objectification is empowering for women.
  100. Sexual objectification is a women’s right.

  110. Sex offenders are an oppressed group that faces unfair discrimination.
  111. Creep Shaming is discrimination against male sexuality.

  163. There’s something innate about feminine and masculine gender.
  164. Gender identity is innate and fixed.
  165. Gender must be affirmed in society, not abolished.
  166. Ending sexism means biological sex isn’t real.
  167. Men should be leading & dominating the feminist discourse in a women’s movement.
  168. If your feminism doesn’t please men or isn’t approved by men, then it’s bad and harmful.
  169. Men patronizing, policing, publicly humiliating, & silencing marginalized women is okay as long as you demonize them for their feminist sociopolitical views first.
  170. Men were the great heroes and go-getters of the past, who achieved great things; not the oppressors of women.
  171. Women weren’t that much more oppressed than men were in the past.
  172. Women’s oppression is equal to men’s.
  173. Women must treat their oppression as equal to men’s in their struggle to end their oppression.
  174. Equality with men should be the main goal of feminism to end oppression.
  175. Joining forces with men in a revolution is the only way women will end their oppression.
  176. Men can’t be blamed for their actions, culture is.
  177. Poor, disadvantaged, men were only victims who never dominated women in the past.
  178. Men do not have more power over women in society.
  179. Male violence isn’t the biggest problem in the world.
  180. Intersectionality means not focusing on male violence against women.
  181. Intersectionality means putting women’s issues behind other issues.
  182. Intersectionality means women have just as much power as white, heterosexual, men do in society.
  183. Intersectionality means women are not a political group with their own needs.
  184. Intersectionality means centering women in feminism is bigoted.
  185. Intersectionality is about putting more importance on solidarity with other oppressed groups than on women having solidarity with each other.
  186. White supremacy has no link to male supremacy.
  187. Racial minorities need to cooperate with the establishment to end systemic racism.
  188. The large sex trade in indigenous or racial minority women and girls has no link to white supremacist colonialism.
  189. Heteronormativity is feminist; it’s equality between men and women.
  190. Going along to get along with your oppressor is about equality, not submissiveness.
  191. Giving up independence to live with a man is an empowering choice for women.
  192. Women choosing submissive roles is feminist.
  193. Marriage isn’t a patriarchal institution, it’s about equality.
  194. Women who have been most affected by patriarchy in their lives don’t have more of a say about their oppression than men do.
  195. Women are not an oppressed sex class, whose goal should be that of collective liberation, it should be about individual empowerment.
  196. Ignoring male privilege & the lived experiences of oppressed women is treating them equally to men.
  197. If women want to be treated equally, then there is no reason to respect them as women.
  198. A man believing himself to be intellectually superior to women in politics and saying a woman hast nothing intelligent to say, is legitimate criticism and has nothing to do with sexism.
  199. Labeling women, crazy, isn’t sexist if you think they’re being illogical, and there are no historical sexist implications to that.
  200. Feminist words and ideas are more violent than actual violence.
  201. Radical feminism causes male violence and crimes against women, not the men who perpetrate them.
  202. Women perpetuate patriarchal violence.
  203. Women can be blamed for male violence.
  204. Materialism, consumerism, neoliberalism, and poverty aren’t the inevitable results of capitalism.
  205. A free market under capitalism creates freedom for all.
  206. Personal choice is of the utmost importance.
  207. Everything in our lives is the result of our own choices.
  208. If someone volunteers to do something, then it’s not exploitative or harmful.
  209. Wage labor, economic exploitation, and striving to become a part of the capitalist class are feminist goals.
  210. Women and racial minorities will become free through wage labor.
  211. Members of historically oppressed groups supporting & gaining levels in a capitalist system ends oppression.
  212. Equality and liberation can only be achieved through the top down.
  213. The West using military force in third-world countries are saving women and girls.
  214. Pointing out how the inferior status & control of women is enforced and maintained through religion is offensive, extremist, and anti-feminist.
  215. Conservatism in religion isn’t extremist, anti-theism is.
  216. Feminist women who are against religion just need to learn more about religion from religious groups/people.
  217. We must respect religious cultural traditions/values.
  218. We should always look at other cultural practices from a cultural/moral relativist perspective, not in the context of oppression.
  219. Female Genital Mutilation should be a respected cultural practice; it’s racist and colonialist to oppose it.
  220. An outright ban of Female Genital Mutilation is a form of cultural prejudice.
  221. Labiaplasty is a choice free from coerced patriarchal beauty expectations and has no relation to Female Genital Mutilation.
  222. Groupthink, and using a position of power to intimidate, and bully those you disagree with, are effective strategies that show your position is the correct one.
  223. As long as you aren’t sending rape and death threats it is okay to persecute some feminists for their beliefs.
  224. Working toward a truly equal and free society is overly idealistic and Utopian; only reformism in an oppressive system is the solution.
  225. Wanting a society or belief system that isn’t built around a superior/inferior hierarchical structure is extremist.
  226. Oppressed groups can reclaim the slurs used against them, even if they weren’t created by them in the first place.
  227. Men achieved and earned their privilege in society; women just need to compete more.
  228. Even if born males who claim to be transgender have a past of murdering, abusing, or raping females, they should still be respected as women, be allowed to change their identity, and be granted access to women’s safe spaces.
  229. Men saying they feel female, even if only sometimes, is enough for them to be considered women, and allowed in women’s safe and private spaces.
  230. If a man says he is a woman, gender fluid, or non-binary, that puts him in a group that is more oppressed than both women and racial minorities.
  231. White, heterosexual men who’ve experienced gender dysphoria are in a more oppressed group than women and racial minorities.
  232. Heterosexual males are a part of LGBT+.
  233. Heterosexual males are victims of homophobia.
  234. Males are victims of misogyny.
  235. Men who’ve experienced gender dysphoria suffer more than oppressed women.
  236. Patriarchal oppression, internalized misogyny, body image issues, enforced gender norms, or lesbian/bisexual interests are not causes for gender dysphoria in girls.
  237. Gender dysphoria means transgender; a gendered culture or other mental health issues shouldn’t be considered as contributing factors.
  238. Even if gender dysphoria is a delusion, it should be treated as if it’s real.
  239. Gender dysphoria in people can only be treated by encouraging the belief that they’re born in the wrong body, must go straight to transitioning, & undergo a sex change operation.
  240. Gender non-conforming children are transgender.
  241. Sterilizing and experimenting with hormone blockers on prepubescent children, who are told they’re born in the wrong body, is healthy.
  242. There are no moral issues with operating on children for a sex change, when many don’t realize they are homosexual until later on in life.
  243. Children that don’t fit into gender stereotypes associated with their sex, and like stereotypical things associated with the opposite sex, should be assumed to be internally the opposite gender.
  244. Claiming transgender status is not a way people are dealing with internalized homophobia in a heteronormative society with strict gender roles.
  245. Gender dysphoria isn’t a symptom of a gendered society showing gender is wrong; it shows gender is real and innate.
  246. Medical transition is healthy, not harmful.
  247. Pharmaceutical companies aren’t pathologizing gender non-conformity for profit.
  248. Sex-segregated spaces are exactly the same as the racist segregation of the past.
  249. Forcing schools to grant male teens access to the girls’ locker rooms if they say they’re transgender isn’t a violation of Title IX & complicit in sexual abuse.
  250. Gender-neutral bathrooms and changing rooms are about gender equality.
  251. Transwomen need safety from male violence, not females.
  252. Homosexual interests/behavior may be a sign of sexual inversion.
  253. The fetishization of violence against women must be respected as a sexual orientation, but not lesbianism; women loving the female sex.
  254. Women who recognize biology and sexual dimorphism are obsessed with genitalia.
  255. Women who want to protect female-only safe spaces from predatory men are bigoted.
  256. Women who don’t want violent males in their spaces believe women can’t be violent.
  257. Female violence is as much of a problem as male violence.
  258. Men being able to hit women is about gender equality.
  259. Men are not biologically, physically stronger than women.
  260. Male penetrative rape isn’t more physically harmful or any different from a woman sexually assaulting another woman.
  261. Male penetrative rape isn’t about patriarchal power.
  262. There is nothing potentially more harmful and dangerous about Penis in Vagina for females; to say so is to be discriminatory toward male sexuality.
  263. To say Penis in Vagina is a patriarchal sexual expectation women are forced into, is anti-male sexuality.
  264. Women who feel victimized and violated by revenge porn are ashamed of their bodies.
  265. Sharing nude photos without a woman’s consent wouldn’t be a problem if more women felt comfortable being naked around men.
  266. Real radical feminists adhere to male demands of what feminism should be like.
  267. It’s men’s job in feminism to weed out the women who say things they don’t like.
  268. Radical feminist women must be inclusive of men calling themselves women, even if they terrorize, stalk, and threaten them with anti-feminist tactics.
  269. Brain sex theory is science that proves gender exists.
  270. Transwomen are female.
  271. Saying men can’t be women is hate speech.
  272. Transracial is cultural appropriation, but transgender is legitimate.
  273. Feminists who reject gender are sexists who promote the gender binary.
  274. Feminists who believe gender is a social construct are promoting genocide.
  275. Using the wrong pronouns on a trans person is equivalent to systematic violence.
  276. Feminists who resent men are just broken, abused individuals, who have a warped view on life, and blame men for all their problems.
  277. Feminists who believe the sex industry and gender are harmful are responsible for male violence.
  278. The sex trafficking of girls and women to fulfill male sexual demands isn’t a big deal.
  279. Underage girls can choose to go into sex work.
  280. Men paying to have sex with underage girls isn’t sexual abuse; it’s receiving a service.
  281. Even if a woman started prostitution while underage, it’s still work, not sexual exploitation.
  282. Women’s bodies being violated, penetrated by penises, while having the highest risk for STDs, violence, rape, and death from men; isn’t different from any other job.
  283. Sex work should always be a voluntary option provided for women to get out of poverty.
  284. The problems in prostitution all stem from the stigmatization of selling sex, not from male power/entitlement/violence and the sexual objectification of females.
  285. The personal accounts of ex-prostituted women, who’ve joined prostitution abolition movements, shouldn’t be trusted, because they’re traumatized.
  286. Exited or current prostituted women who speak out against the sex industry are ideologues and liars.
  287. Exited or current prostituted women who see the sex industry as harmful, because of traumatic experiences, deserve hate and abuse.
  288. Ex-prostituted women working to abolish the sex trade in women/girls should be silenced for their oppressive views against prostituted women/girls.
  289. Ex-prostituted women who join abolition movements just had a negative experience, it shouldn’t reflect badly on the sex industry.
  290. Women who experience trauma from being prostituted are just not cut out for the job.
  291. Only those who like being prostituted should be listened to, the rest are lying for an anti-sex, man-hating, and radical feminist agenda.
  292. The sex industry has no relation to structural oppression whatsoever, it’s just sex.
  293. The West using wombs for rent from impoverished, women of color in the third world, for surrogates has no relation to exploitation, it’s all about choice.
  294. Poor women renting out their wombs to a wealthier couple has no relation to women’s economic oppression & exploitation of reproductive labor; it’s a consensual agreement.
  295. Women and racial minorities are the oppressors of themselves and of gender non-conforming men.
  296. Radical feminist women are oppressing women.
  297. Second wave feminists are outdated, bigoted, and shouldn’t be listened to.
  298. Older feminists aren’t as feminist as the new generation of third-wave feminism.
  299. Feminists who believe that feminism requires full devotion from women for it to be successful in liberating them are bad.
  300. Showing a commitment to radical feminist goals/concepts is ideological purity.
  301. It’s excusable to threaten, harass, track, stalk, and dox feminist women online if they don’t seem ‘progressive’ enough.
  302. Polygamy is a good arrangement because it keeps men sexually satisfied and women from turning to prostitution.
  303. There’s no such thing as sexism among gay men because they have been oppressed as much as women.
  304. Women of color should keep quiet about their abusive relationships because it makes men of color “look bad”.
  305. All-girl schools are bad for girls because by keeping them away from boys it doesn’t prepare them for “the real world”.
  306. You can’t choose two or more racial identities but you can identify as male and female.
  307. Women who critically examine the sex industry and sexuality are oppressive and comparable to Nazis.
  308. Women who say they’re oppressed because they’re biologically female are oppressive and comparable to Nazis.
  309. Women must be stopped from gathering in public spheres to discuss how their rights are being impacted by changes to definitions in policies and law.
  310. It is acceptable to threaten violence or be violent toward women labeled transphobic or TERF because their ideology is comparable to Nazis.
  311. Transwomen deserve sympathy no matter who they harm.
  312. Women/girls assaulted and harassed in safe spaces/refuges/prisons by men/boys identifying as women/girls, are just collateral damage in the effort to accommodate trans people.
  313. Young girls aren’t allowed to say they’re uncomfortable with male bodies around them in their private/safe spaces or establish boundaries with men/boys who identify as women/girls.
  314. Misgendering someone is a hate crime but not misogyny.
  315. It is okay to use authority to force people to accept others’ personal identity.
  316. Exit services for women/girls in the sex industry aren’t needed, more legal brothels are needed.

The solution here requires a lot of effort from the progressive movement to start critically examining the positions they are pushing and advocating for to see whether they are actually free from the strong influences of systemic oppression, or being influenced by, and helping to continue the institutions that perpetuate the subjugation of others. Then, to go onto working to dismantle these institutions.

You are welcome to leave any more examples that you can think of in the comments below… and I will keep adding to this list.

Trans Male Violence

The Politics of Gender

Disclaimer: The purpose of this site is simply to document. This site does not encourage or condone discrimination against trans men and women. It is in no way intended to demonize trans men and trans women any more than reporting on any other types of violence demonize women or men. Presentation of research data is simply that, presentation of research data.

A common myth in popular media is that trans women are never violent and pose no threat to women or children. While this may be the case for many trans women, it is certainly not the case for all and it is dishonest to suggest otherwise. The following represents a list of crimes committed specifically by trans women. It only includes cases where trans or gender identity was claimed or diagnosed. Cross dressers and other males under the transgender umbrella are not included.

Gender Identity Laws allow “Transwoman” to exhibit his erect penis in Toronto YMCA women’s locker room

“In fact, the whole matter was dropped, with the columnist hand-waving away female sexual assault and the transactivists doing the same (but calling the woman a liar as well) until transactivists began also claiming that the newspaper should not in future publish any sexual assault claims from any woman, ever, if the male perpetrator invokes a Gender Identity.”

Planet Fitness revokes membership of woman who reported a man in the women’s locker room, citing “No Judgement Zone” policy

“Transgender activists hailed the outcome as a victory for the male rights of “transwomen”, who seek the elimination of the human rights of privacy, public safety and free speech of actual female persons- those formerly known as “women”.”

Olympia WA School Officials: State Gender Identity provision overrides Title IX Equality for Girls Swim Teams

“This Washington State Gender Identity law, passed in 2006, is proving to be deeply discriminatory against the rights of females in its practical application. The rights of females under Title IX should not be overridden by Washington State statute, or attached with a condition of teen-aged girls showering with “kinky” middle-aged men.”

“Maybe what feminism needs is separatism, not inclusion”

Gender Is War

By Jocelyn MacDonald, Feminist Current

In a time where inclusion has become one of feminism’s key priorities, a founding idea has fallen particularly out of favour: separatism. The mere accusation of not being “intersectional” (something that actually is imperative but is mostly misapplied by the same liberals calling for “inclusiveness”) is enough to shutter events, spaces, and organizations that center women. The idea of separatism, even among many feminists, calls to mind the dreaded hairy-pitted second-waver who spells women with a “y,” or those unfuckable dykes, buzz cuts and all (LOL, amirite?). You’ll see prohibitions against separatism any time any group of women tries to organize anything, ever. “This event is for anyone marginalized by patriarchy,” liberals will say. Thank you, but literally everyone is “marginalized” by patriarchy in some way.

Liberal feminists and leftist dudes alike have lost the plot — feminism is separation from a system that…

When is 90% not Substantially ALL?

OUT of My Panties, Now!!!

Okay, I rounded… I admit it. I rounded 88% up to 90%. Substantially all still applies. Do not mistake that.

88% of the transgender population, those people who are protected by gender identity and gender expression laws, are, as reported by their own advocacy organizations, males with a psychosexual disorder. (1)

Many men with psychosexual disorders practice their fetish in the privacy of their own homes. But as many as 13,946,348 of them in the US, at the time of this writing, will be free to practice their fetish in public, in front of your children, in women’s locker rooms, in the girls bathroom at school. (2) This will be enabled by current and pending transgender legislation throughout the US. (3)

Transgender fetish is the largest sexual disorder reported in convicted sex offenders.(4) Almost 100% of convicted sex offenders have a documented history of transvestism, crossdressing, free-dressing, Autogynephilia, transsexualism…

Exiting Into a Void

“Without exiting programmes, without long-term counselling, without a safe place to live, without an real job or route to a job, without knowing prostituted women can keep their children – we are just abandoning those inside the sex trade.”

Rebecca Mott

Dedicated to Chelsea Geddes, who I hope can understand.

I am often asked how I exited indoors prostitution, as if the answer will give the listener/reader a neat and happy ending.

When I exited, there was no exiting programmes, no real understanding that indoors prostitution could cause long-term damage – there was no interest in getting the prostituted freedom and full humanity.

I exited because I choose to live, I exited because I could be torture any more – but I exited by my sheer stubborn will to be a human that could matter.

I am fully behind the Nordic Approach, if there are long-term and holistic exiting programs in all countries that do that system.

It is not good enough to just fine punters – that is a small start, but do not make a finish.

Personally, I cannot understand the fear to imprison punters – are they not serial…

– France has adopted the Nordic Model because the Nordic Model works

“France has adopted the Nordic Model because the Nordic Model works”

Press release

For immediate release

Ressources Prostitution

Paris, France.

After years of citizenship initiatives and civil actions, French law makers took a critical step to establish gender equality in France by adopting The Nordic Model. On April 6th 2016, the French National Assembly recognized prostitution as one of the worst forms of violence against women and voted the criminalization of the purchase of sex. This vote in favor of criminalization is the fourth and the final draft submitted between 2013 and 2016 (overthrowing three rejections by the Senate), reinforcing the country will to fight sexual exploitation of women in prostitution. Under this law, prostituted women, children and men will not be criminalized. They will receive social support and benefits to exit prostitution while men buying sex will be fined and liable to prosecution.

By adopting this law…

This Isn’t About The Ghomeshi Case

A fate of possibilities

I am not an idiot. I know, it really needs stating.

I’m far from a lawyer, and I don’t pretend to be.

As an intelligent woman who used to write and amend laws, I’ve got a general comprehension of concepts like presumption of innocence, the burden of guilt and reasonable doubt.

You wouldn’t know it from the Men On The Internet.

In the wake of the Ghomeshi verdict, I said I believed women. Just that. Simple.

Since then, I’ve been inundated with men explaining veeeerrrryyyy sssllloooowwwlllyy that there’s such a thing as innocent until proven guilty, you know little lady.

WHAT?! THERE IS?! I have literally never heard that phrase in my whole life! I thought everyone was guilty of all the crimes until proven otherwise. Oh boy, I’m going to need to go back and reassess a whole bunch of life choices.

And you’re telling me that reasonable doubt is a…

QotD: “I’ve come of age in the porn generation. Here are some of the problems we face”

Anti-Porn Feminists

My first lessons about sex didn’t come from sex education lessons, but were filtered through pre-pubescent boys, who received their information from porn. A 2008 report into youth exposure to pornography, carried out in the US, found that from a pool of 5,000 undergraduate students, 93% of boys and 62% of girls had been exposed to internet porn before the age of 18. The report also found that “boys were significantly more likely to view online pornography more often and to view more types of images”.

Porn provides a huge bank of sexual imagery, at the click of a button. Regrettably, it often depicts aggressive sexual acts – a 2010 analysis of 50 bestselling adult videos in the US found that 88% of the scenes included physical aggression. This aggression is overwhelmingly carried out by the male, with the target of the violence being a woman 94% of the time…

Breaking the porcelain doll: underneath male sexual cruelty against women and children.

Legalised Lies

This writing was first posted on January 25th 2015 on my tumblr.

When one looks into the language that pornographers and consumers of mainstream porn use to describe scenes, you can spot a pattern.

It seems there are two things that are often accentuated:
1. The difference in power between the male subject and his body (“big”, “monstercock”, “huge”, “daddy” etc.) and the female object and her body (“tiny”, “tight”, “petite”, “teen”, “cute” etc.).
2. The violence that the subject inflicts on the object (“gets fucked”, “gets a pounding”, “is banged”, “destroyed”, “abused”, “violated”, “has to”, “is forced to”, can’t take it” etc.).

This idea of a big, cruel subject harming a small, vulnerble object is what drives many men’s sexuality today. It’s the kind of sex men desire, what they fantasize about and dream of enacting themselves, as subject. People often claim that pornography is fiction and that fantasies…

Radical Feminism – Sex Based Oppression – What is it?

Dead Wild Roses

I have to thank tumblr for occasionally putting such important concise definitions at my fingertips.  So, let’s define what sex based oppression and where it comes from.

“As Friedrich Engels made clear, even before feminism’s First Wave, women were historically controlled because we are “a means of production”—without women, there are no heirs, and without heirs, no inherited property and wealth.  Women’s reproductive capacity is why we were colonized as property, just as animals, countries, weapons and land was colonized.  Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been important at all; any thing we could do (cooking, cleaning, sewing clothes) could have been done as well by men (and in the military, it was).  The reason women were oppressed was to control our REPRODUCTIVE ABILITIES.  This does not mean all women had these abilities, but women were assumed to have them until proven otherwise.  (In many religious traditions, a woman’s “barren” status…

QotD: “Man celebrates death of Women’s Studies Programs”

Anti-Porn Feminists

Over time, academics – Judith Butler, for one – got sloppy drunk on Deconstructionism and started applying the technique to other fields, like sociology, psychology, anthropology. (Scientists, you’ll note, have not jumped on the Deconstruction train because their discipline is, thankfully, rooted in that which can be verified by logic and reason.)

Queer Theory, which has hijacked every Women’s Studies program (as far as I’m aware) in the U.S., is nothing but Deconstructionist Literary Theory applied to human beings – the “science” of “because I say so.”

The other day, California Magazine, published a piece by a gay male academic/Deconstructionist who took some time to, not surprisingly, celebrate the eradication of Women’s Studies programs in favor of those that center around male needs, and to chastise mean ladies who question the assertion that their bodies, their lived realities are interchangeable with male bodies, and males’ lived realities. This man…

Shit Liberal Feminists Say: SWERF

“Supporting prostitution and screaming “SWERF” at abolitionists isn’t feminism, it’s capitulating to male supremacy and writing marginalized women off as collateral damage.”

I love your Shit Liberal Feminists Say series so much! That’s exactly what liberals who call women SWERFs are, nothing more than school yard bullies, not to mention how privileged the people who say it usually are. They’ve co-opted feminism to do the exact opposite and serve patriarchal institutions.

Feminist Progression

Like many feminists, my interest in women’s rights began when I started noticing I was treated like I was less than the men around me. I didn’t analyze much deeper than that – I just needed confirmation that something wasn’t right, I wasn’t imagining it, and that that something wasn’t my fault. Now that my analysis has gone deeper, and is rooted firmly in an anti-oppression framework, it’s clear to me that when I first started learning and believing in feminism I was, in fact, a liberal feminist.

Liberal feminism is an individualistic view of women’s rights that holds equality with men as its end goal. Liberal feminism focuses on advancing women’s positions in existing institutions and believes that what women want out of life is what men want and have already secured for themselves.

Way back then, I understood feminism in relation to my life, my experiences and my…

Are We There Yet?

“Instead of recognizing that no women are free until all women are free, mainstream feminists leave our most disadvantaged to their own devices while shunning the radical and collective action of the grassroots women’s movement as outdated and irrelevant, remnants of a bygone era as opposed to the driving force needed to spur more fortunate women to action.”

Feminist Progression

This year, Vancouver Rape Relief commemorated International Women’s Day by screening Sarah Gavron’s Suffragette, a 2015 historical drama that follows a group of white Suffragettes in early 20th century Britain as they work to win voting rights for women. The film, which has been rightly criticized for its distinctly whitewashed depiction of the British Suffragette movement, is a bleak yet inspiring look at the tactics and personal sacrifice needed to bring about substantive change for women.

After overcoming some initial hesitation, the film’s main character Maud Watts becomes increasingly involved with the Suffragette movement during a moment when the movement’s tactics shifted from more palatable forms of protest to direct action including throwing bricks through windows, igniting bombs in mailboxes, and cutting power lines. As her involvement in suffrage increases, so do the costs Watts incurs, as she loses her job, her son, her home, and is arrested…

The Masculinity of Transition

“To “choose” your gender – as if gender weren’t a set of oppressive obligations and proscriptions invented by men to keep women physically, emotionally and financially handicapped, is a very masculine idea.”

I love this post so much, thank you for pointing out how the basics of transgender ideology are masculine ideas. This is why I try to avoid describing male trans as ‘feminine’ or ‘gender non-conforming’. The truth is they’re really just like any other man socialized in a patriarchal culture.

Trans “Women” Hope Butches Become a Thing of the Past

“The fact that they are using the trans lifestyle to promote their misogynistic and homophobic views should wake women up and make them realize they are fighting for the extinction of their own sisters.”

Astonishingly, and I say that sarcastically, since this does not surprise me in the least, trans women actually hate women. It isn’t just about men controlling women, this is flat-out misogyny at work here.

It’s no secret that trans women, being men, believe they not only have the right to use the words woman and lesbian to describe themselves and they not only have the right to women’s spaces, these men also believe they have the absolute right to women’s bodies. This is what the cotton ceiling is all about: men demanding that women who don’t want to have sex with them, have sex with them anyway or be accused of being bigots for not having open enough minds to see these men as women.
